How to get the Nodebox-Client

Just go to download and install the Nodebox-Client.

Connecting with the Nodebox-Client

Connecting with Dropbox is easy: select the "Dropbox" item in the dropdown menu of the login form and press "connect". Then a browser window will open inside the Nodebox-Client application. Here you have to login into your dropbox account and give permissions to the Nodebox-Client app. Then close the window and the Nodebox-Client will do the rest for you.
If you have a running Nodebox-Server and you want to connect, select the "Nodebox" item in the dropdown menu of the login form. Fill in your user name and password and press "connect".
After the successfully authentification the items you have stored by the provider will be downloaded to the Nodebox-Client application folder and displayed on the Nodebox-Client desktop.

Item states

From left to rigth: "unsynchronized", "synchronizing", "synchronized", "corrupted"

Add files to the Nodebox-Client

Simply drag a file from your file system into the desktop of the Nodebox-Client. The file will be copied to the Nodebox-Client application folder and uploaded immediately. You can check the state of the uploading process by a small blue icon marked on the file desktop item.

Get files out of the Nodebox-Client

If the item is locally available, simply drag the item out of your Nodebox-Client into your file system. If you need more access there is a possibility to open a file or folder with your operating system default application, by right clicking the item and selecting "open in native os" menu entry.

Remove files

You can remove files by right clicking on a desktop item and selecting "delete" in menu. If you want to delete files inside a folder structure, you have to delete the item manually in your file system by using the "open in native os" context menu entry. After that you have to select "push file" from the item context menu.

How files are synced

Remote changes are synchronized in nearly realtime if the client is connected to a storage hoster. Local changes made outside of the Nodebox-Client have to be pushed by using the "push file" context menu entry. (Version control, conflict detecting and resolving is not implemented at this stage.)

Automatic software updates

The Nodebox-Client checks automatically if a newer version of the client software is available and asks you for permission to install it.
